Better For Our Communities

Donating 10% of our profits to charity every year is just one way we want to maximise our social impact.

10% Of Profits To Charity

Since 2013, RH Amar has donated 10% of its profits each year to charity. Through this commitment we have donated more than £2m to 85+ charities. Charities to have benefited from donations include industry charities Grocery Aid and Farm Africa, national charities like Macmillan Cancer Support and Guide Dogs, and local Buckinghamshire charities including Rennie Grove Peace and Heart of Bucks Community Foundation. We also offer company Donation Matching to enable colleagues' fundraising efforts to go further.

Annual Charity Prize Draw

In 2020 we introduced the RH Amar Charity Prize Draw, an opportunity for our customers, brand partners and suppliers to nominate charities and good causes which they are passionate about. We draw four winning charities each year, which we then make a donation to on behalf of the business who nominated them.

The four winning charities who shared £25,000 as part of our 2023 RH Amar Charity Prize Draw were: Eden Valley Hospice, Access Sport, Leicestershire Cares and The Trussell Trust.

Volunteering

RH Amar offers every colleague the chance to spend one day a year volunteering at a charity of their choice – this year saw a range of activities from helping at animal charities to local schools.

Our Local Community

RH Amar forged a link with Booker Hill Primary & Nursery School in 2009 when we provided funds for the planting of new trees in the school grounds. Since then we have funded an annual outing to Kew Gardens for Year 6 children. Maureen Amar (daughter of founder Raoul Amar) was a Governor of the school between 2011 and 2016.

We also work closely with local food redistribution organisations such as One Can Trust, Wycombe Food Hub and Aylesbury Foodbank.
